Renigunta Movie Review

9th March 2012   ·   0 Comments
Not for Tollywood movie lovers or Andhra Pradesh in general !
Johny, Sanusha starrer Renigunta was released on 8th March 2012. Dubbing specialist Kondeti Sureh has again come up with a typical flick of his flavor titled as ‘Renigunta.’ Paneer selvam directed the movie and Suresh Kondeti produced the flick while Ganesh raghavendran composed the music. Producer’s son Johny and Sanusha were seen as the lead actors along with Nishanth. Now Renigunta, the movie review goes like this.
Story: Movie starts with a scene in which Police chasing down a gang of five prisoners escaped from jail. Among them one is Siva (Johnny) and a girl (Sanusha) is waiting in Railway Station for Siva, as Siva sees her, he goes into his flash back. VV Vinayak has given voice for the whole flashback in the film.
The flashback scene starts in a in a village where shiva was living happily with his family while his dad works a PWD officer. Siva’s father wants to see him as a engineer but Siva has interest only in foot ball. Unfortunately, Siva’s parents got killed by a roudy sheeter called Khadar. From then Siva wants to take revenge on Khadar for his parent’s death, and he attempts to kill Khadar while in this issue he got arrested and sent to jail. In the jail Siva got four criminal friends, and they want to live their own life by escaping from the jail.
As soon as they escaped from the prison Siva killed Khadar who is the cause of his parent’s death. Starting with khadar they will kill so many people but there is a reason for every murder. They have become contract killers wanted to settle as Mumbai assassins. As they want to reach Mumbai their fortunes stop them in the Renigunta as they meet the mediator of whom they have got the supari. During this Siva falls in love with a deaf and dumb girl who has her own financial problems. When Siva stops murders and what he will do for the girl he loves, forms the rest of the story.
Analysis: Screenplay and Direction are focused only on negative side of the roles in the film. The Editing should be better in the second half as it was very slow which makes audience feel bored. Production work is just ok while Cinematography was alright. The village background shown was very realistic. The voice over given by VV Vinayak for the flashback was a plus point. Background score is good but the songs are bad. Dialogues are just about ok. Though the actors of the movie are the new comers, they have performed well and good. Johny’s performance as a criminal was very realistic and Sanusha showed her best as a deaf and dumb girl. Theepetti Ganeshan acted very well as physically challenged person and he brings a few laughs in the movie.
Conclusion: The movie has not brought appeal as it was released on non commercial values. There was overdose of crime as the roles were just the young. The first half of the movie was interesting while the second half is just ok as the climax was dragged. The movie can be watched only for the entertainment.
Verdict: Movie can be watched only Watch this movie only if the people are diehard fans of Tamil flicks as it is not suitable for Telugu people.
